How do you sign the letter G in BSL?

Make a fist with both hands and place your dominant fist on top of your passive fist. No movement. G is the 7th letter of the two-handed BSL alphabet.

The sign, demonstrated on video by a Deaf teacher.

G suggests the lowercase g: one round shape sitting on another. Both fists stay closed.

You will fingerspell G in names like George, Grace and Gabriel and places like Glasgow, Gloucester and Guildford. Practise it next to F and H, its neighbours in the alphabet.
