How do you sign the letter D in BSL?
Hold your passive index finger upright. Curve the thumb and fingers of your dominant hand and rest them against that finger, so the two hands draw a D. No movement. D is the 4th letter of the two-handed BSL alphabet.
D is drawn against the passive index: the straight stroke is the passive finger, the curve is your dominant hand.
You will fingerspell D in names like Daniel, Daisy and Dylan and places like Dover, Derby and Dundee. Practise it next to C and E, its neighbours in the alphabet.
