How do you sign the letter K in BSL?
Hold your passive index finger upright. Bend the index and middle fingers of your dominant hand and rest them against the passive index, one above the other, so the hands draw a K. No movement. K is the 11th letter of the two-handed BSL alphabet.
Like D, K is drawn against the upright passive index: the passive finger is the vertical stroke, your two bent fingers are the arms of the K.
You will fingerspell K in names like Kai, Katie and Kieran and places like Kendal, Kingston and Keswick. Practise it next to J and L, its neighbours in the alphabet.
