How do you sign the letter Q in BSL?
Hold your passive index finger pointing down or sideways. Hook the thumb and index finger of your dominant hand around it, forming the loop and tail of a Q. No movement. Q is the 17th letter of the two-handed BSL alphabet.
Q is a hooked loop around the passive index. It is almost always followed by U — the little finger — so practise the move from the hook to the fingertip.
You will fingerspell Q in names like Quinn and Quentin and places like Queensbury and Quorn. Practise it next to P and R, its neighbours in the alphabet.
